In the UK and Ireland, Team Taylor changes in September. From 2nd September, Team Taylor will be called Redtooth Darts (powered by Protege Events).
The final for the first 12 weeks will be on 16th September at Rileys Wolverhampton, when 4 places in Q school will be decided and 4 places to be mentored by Phil at our National final on December 9th in Leeds.
The first season of Redtooth Darts will replace Team Taylor and run over 10 weeks, from 2nd September – 10th November. It is free for players to enter and all players at Rileys will continue to play as they are now.
Every Rileys/other pub/venue will have two qualifiers that make it through to the regional finals taking place on 24th/25th November; from these regional finals, the winner will receive 2 floor tickets to the world championships; 8 players from each region will make it to the national final on 9th December in Leeds (at the luxurious Alea Casino), where 12 more places in Q school will be attained plus mentoring from The Power on the night in Leeds.
The final 2 in Leeds will play on the Ally Pally stage to decide the winner of Redtooth Darts/Team Taylor 2012 and win an all-expenses paid trip to watch the world cup of Darts in Hamburg in February.
The players that make it through Q school will be sponsored by Redtooth/Protege Events for their first season as a professional.

Team Taylor; First 4 Winners Make The Team!
Fantastic four seal their free entry in Qualifying School as they make it through The Team Taylor initiative
“The standard on Sunday was incredible and the players did themselves proud.” - Chris Clegg
The inaugural Team Taylor competition finished in style in Wolverhampton on Sunday as John Burgess from Stoke took the spoils and the first ever Team Taylor trophy.
Burgess threw the most consistent darts all afternoon with many maximums and ton-plus finishes being recorded along the way. The best of which being a 12 dart leg recorded during John’s board final against Coventry’s Mark Westgarth.
Burgess beat Edinburgh Riley’s teenage sensation Darren Beveridge 6-2 in the final where the standard remained incredibly high. Beveridge already has many professional scalps, including Phil Taylor, and hopes to make it on to the tour in January.
Burgess, Beveridge, Jay Wilson and Mark Robbins all earned their entry into Qualifying School with some fantastic performances on the day to finish top four out of over 700 entrants. The four will also receive mentoring from 15 time world champion in December and, should they make it through Qualifying School in January, they will also receive full sponsorship on the PDC tour.
Arguably, the star of the day on Sunday, and perhaps the whole tournament, was Milton Keynes’ Billy ‘The Kid’ Holmes, who made it into the last 16 with terrific victories over Cannock’s Jason Hough in the last 64 and Stoke’s Frazer Hill in the last 32. Ton plus checkouts and high scoring was the order of the day for this particular 13 year-old ‘outlaw’ as he stole legs from the older players to provide great pleasure to his travelling entourage, along with the many other onlookers clearly enthralled by his throwing.
For the 60 players that made it to Wolverhampton but fell at the final hurdle, it’s back to the dart board to attempt to qualify for one of the 12 remaining places in Qualifying School available through Redtooth Darts.
Chris Clegg, Managing Director of Protégé Events, the company behind the Team Taylor initiative was delighted at the success of the Team Taylor event:
“The standard on Sunday was incredible and the players did themselves proud. We now have thousands of players trying to emulate what John Burgess achieved on Sunday in our new Redtooth Darts competition and we look forward to sponsoring our winners should they make it on to the PDC tour.
Our ‘X Factor’ of Darts can be played at any club/pub – to register your venue, call Redtooth on 01246 813713.” The four Team Taylor finalists
